Sweating alot

hi ladies,

when i I was going through chemo I did have hot flushes. I hardly get them anymore now but I've noticed I'm sweating a lot and very easily ! I'm now 4 months post chemo.
Has anyone else had this problem ? I still wear a wig but even without my wig and my very short hair, I still sweat. I am back at work now and being a vet nurse I do sweat a lot. But even the smal things like putting on my makeup and I break into a big sweat. It's becoming embarrassing now
  • So happy for you ladies whose hot flushes have subsided, but I am 2 years on, am not on tamoxifen and still have severe hot flushes. I'll break out in sweat with these flushes. My onc sees them come on. At least 50% of the time  I have them every 20 minutes. Would really love to know why some women are affected more than others.
  • I believe that some antidepressant medication can be used for controlling hot flushes. Not something to go on rashly, but I can tell you the hot flushes are making me very depressed, so it might kill two birds with one stone!
If you are really suffering it might be worth discussing with your GP to weigh up the pros and cons.
  • @Unicornkisses I've tried Effexor in the past. This is the antidepressant they recommend for hot flushes. But it gave me very bad headaches that I had to stop taking it and the withdrawal was horrendous. So that's not an option for me. Other SSRIs haven't been effective.
  • @Nadi, how awful! No point adding anything else to have to endure.
I will certainly remove them from my list of possible remedies then.
