So scared.

Hi Blackduck, I just finished 6 rounds of chemo and 25 radiations for a high grade 3, triple negative BC 30 June 2015 I can relate to the fear, anxiety and unknown your about to discover. Reading other comments here the biggest thing is to breathe, I found yoga amazing help if its available near you. As others have said get 'my journey' diary I would be lost without it. Almost like a security blanket for me. High Grade is treatable, I'm proof of that. You will amaze yourself and find out so much more in your life, Life, friends, help, support and family will change whilst you smash BC. My employer of all people told me at the start when I was diagnosed in December 14. Now is the time to be selfish your allowed to be and be kind to yourself always.

Hi Blackduck, you have certainly found the best place to be although some days it is a bit harder to be involved. I was diagnosed July 9 with grade 3 triple negative inflammatory breast cancer and just had my first round of chemo, surgery, etc to occur in the future. This journey is certainly a whirlwind of emotion with that surreal feeling of maybe I'm dreaming. Have to say although hard, take each day as it comes and it is ok to cry. I have made a vow to myself that no matter how revolting I may feel I will get up and look good. There is amazing support available and you will get through.

Hi again BD. My biopsy showed  high grade and aggressive DCIS,  lumpectomy resulted in high grade and aggressive DCIS with invasive have ,  margins not clear.  Just had mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy results given Thurs,  shows no progression to nodes,  and   margins all clear.  Getting prepared for chemo and tamoxifin.  You will hey through this,  this is not a death sentence they get really good results these days.  Stay strong,  don't let these feelings take away your happiness.  I find my grand children are the best distraction for me,  when they are around they are all I focus on,  nothing else matters.  You can and you will beat this,  this will not get 'this little black duck' xx

Hello again:) Mine was grade 2, and I don't know about high grade.Just remember that invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common BC in women.Some of the other types that are not as common are also more difficult to treat.We all think it's going to ' get us in the end' when in fact it's probably not!!!:) There are dozens and dozens of ladies,on here ,that joined round about the same time as me.We have all had different treatments for different diagnosis's, and we are ALL doing just fine.Of course I am not wanting to trivialise it,because I know there are ladies that are struggling.xox

I too struggled those first few nights. I think that the world and our crazy lives settle down and that can often be a time of anxiety.

But it truly does get better as you move forward and plan with your surgeons and care team a oath to get on top of this and back to full health again. Sounds like they're getting you in quickly and that's a good thing, a very good thing

Hi Blackduck, I know how scary it is when you are first diagnosed. Get yourself a piece of paper, and write down all of your questions for the doctor, so you are able to get answers even though you are upset. Take someone with you as support to your appointment, so they can catch what information you miss. As Paula said, breast cancer is one of the more treatable cancers. I have had grade 3A cancer removed with 5 lymph nodes involved. I have a treatment plan and am moving forward. Have trust in your medical team and most importantly in yourself, and involve your family and friends in the process. Take a deep breath, write it all down and start talking and planning. Thank you Paula,  I know it is "fear of the unknown " that I am suffering from.  I just wish someone would put me to sleep for the next 5 years and I could wake up on the other side of this nightmare.  I would love to hug you all in appreciation for your reassuring words but I cant stop shaking for long enough to be steady on my feet. Wednesday cant come quick enough for me. xxx

Hi Robyn,  many thanks for your reassuring message.  After reading your post I felt much more relaxed and am grateful that I now understand that my fears are experienced by all of us. Do you mind me asking if your carcinoma was high grade.

Mine is high grade and aggressive and just the use of those words is making me think that this will get me in the end.  I know I should be thinking positive and I'm hoping that with time, I will.

Hi there. Aggressive and high grade cancers are still treatable if you get them early which it sounds like you have   I am two time triple negative breast cancer survivor. My last case was over four years ago. Both my cancers were around 3cm. Take a big breath. I mean it, stop what you are doing and take a big deep breath. One day at a time is the key, as the girls have said once you know more about surgery and treatment you will feel better. The initial anxiety can be awful but we have all been there and are here for you. I am cancer free at four years and you very well may be in four years time. 

Try and enjoy your darling grandsons birthday tomorrow. He won't know if the cake is stuck together with icing or not.

My apologies for taking so long to respond to all of your posts.  I received a call from the hospital today and my appointment is on Wednesday.  I am panicking because this is an aggressive form of cancer with a high grade.  I was given the "My journey " kit immediately upon getting results of biopsy.  Your many comments have been calming and I have got through today with only a couple of meltdowns.  For some unknown reason as the night draws and it gets closer to bedtime I am shaky, panicky and feel that just want to vomit.  I am a cake decorator and baked my grandsons birthday cake for his party tomorrow, even it has fallen apart in sympathy with me when it broke into 4 pieces as I removed it tonight from the cake tin.  I will have to wait until the morning to see if I can salvage it enough to decorate it - he is turning 3 and I'm sure he wont even notice,  but I will. Thanks for your support and I look forward to speaking with you and my apologies in advance for the meltdowns that will follow xx
