I have just read many blogs on here and am relieved to know I am a normal Armadex woman too. i have all the same symptoms as all of you which i put down to age at first. I have had a bone denisty test done recently and found I dont have arthritus, so the doctor advised me it was side effects of the Arimadex, I cant blame that for the carpel tunnel because I have had that as long as I can remember. the weight gain and like some of you it might budge, but then it stand still. I have put on 20 kg, and lost 9. very sloowly. I am going to a physio for my neck and shoulders, but it is costing me heaps and not helping. Am goint to try yoga. I have just moved from Darwin to Cairns, and have established a relationship with a truly wonderful doctot. She did tell me that there didnt appear to be any hard and fast results as to whether Arimadex works, and if I wanted to go off it then I could, BUT, if the cancer returns then I would never know whether it was going off it or not. I figure I have 2 more years to go and then we will see what we will see. As I said I am glad I am as normal as all of you.

I tried everything to rid myself of the pain and aching joints. I have just completed a "course" of 10 clinical pilates lessons with a Physio. They were fantastic. I pushed through the pain in my knees especially and now I have gtained a lot of strength and can do the exercises easily on my home pilates machine. It is very difficult to deal with the pain and in time it either gets better, easily managed or we just get used to it!!! I am loving the scheduled exercise that I do at least 30 mins a day. I also try and walk or do some other exercise with my pup. I have een on Arimidex since Dec 2010 except for when I was on chemo and a short time whilst "giving myself a break" from it. Specialists are adamant to keep taking the drug for our benefit. I take supplements as well. I hope you can get some relief. XLeonie

Hi Leoni, I have been going to the physio 2x a week but am not really getting anything out of it, so have decideed to cancel my next 3 appointments and take up the yoga. I guess to be honest I am also finding it an inconvenience. We are building our retirement home and have a lot to look forwad to, but are living out of town th other way in a little country town, and find it difficult to make the appointments, so have decided to take on yoga at the CWA hall here once a week. I think that the movements will be a lot better and more relxing. Am also waiting to take on meditation too. I have never got involved in support groups before because of fear of the unknown, but I have found these blogs so interesting and feel part of the "family". I was beginning to think that my symptoms were just part of my age,. I have found it hard to talk to people about the symptoms because I figure that they have their own issues, but on here we all have so much in common.

Hi, our Queensland Cancer Council have set up a yoga class which includes Tai Chi for anyone affected by cancer. It is really good for stretching - just a bit early in the morning as I live out of town as well. The same fella also runs classes where I live so I am going to tap into them. Leoni where do you live. We are living in Cairns and building at Redlynch, but are renting out at Gordonvale atm., We have just started doing the botanic gardens walk each Wednesday. Our walk is 1.2 K up hill then down, I laugh at the young women who run aroun 4 times while we do it once. My husband has had a hip replacement and a knee replacement and is due to have the other knee done once we have settled, and while he finds it difficult he is fitter than me. I am puffing afte a few teps. LOL. Its all goo though ON ON we say.

I live in Central Queensland. It is the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens that we are walking tomorrow. It really is a lovely setting. I may not walk though as my friend is not able to walk very far so we might sit and have a hot drink. I have done plenty of exercise today - cleaned the whole house from top to bottom. I get obsessed sometimes but it will leave me to have a lovely day tomorrow before I head north for my niece's wedding in Townsville. XLeonie

thanks Kathleen for your supportive comments. Can I ask you what are mets, this is new to me.

I have been thinking about trying the Bowen Terapy, have you heard of it? My eldest sone went for his firts treatment today and so I am waiting to hear how he got on. The treatment assists many ailments such as pain, anxiety, stress and many others.

I have been on Arimadex for 4 years now, so I am hoping that by this time next year I will be going off it. I am a bugger for taking pills, and have een given up the glucosomate because it is 1 tablet too many. My little Arimadex pill is enough for me. LOL.

I try to put everything down to my mature age. I went to get a new prothesis yesterday because the silicone started to leaked out of my existing one. I was talking to the lady who owns the ship and she told me that by not wearing it, the body becomes lopsoded and causes neck problems. I HATE wearing mine with a passion and feel that people should accept me for what I am, but maybe she has a point. I have lots of falls and always fall to the left, the opposite side to my surgery. And my neck pain is in my right neck.

I have a young friend who has had a partial and she had to have chemo and radiation, and recently she had to go and have surgery to remove splintered bone from her nerves in her back caused by the radiation. Her cancer was not hormonal so she doesnt take any medication, where as my daughter in law is being treated with methatrexate for arthritus and her hair is falling out. Hmmm, I do wonder about Eve having eaten that bloody apple. My Mum used to tell me that she was punished and made to have periods and bare children., How did I get onto that. Trivia

I do hope you will be OK. znd yess I have felt a LOT of comfort from this site.

Hi Vicki Have been reading your comments, & I can relate to them all. We are lucky that we have such wonderful support systems-I find this site to be the best of those systems. Here we can vent, share, whinge, & discover that many others feel exactly the same strange debilitating pain, mood issues, sleeplessness etc that we do, so that suddenly we don't feel so "stupid". I have been on Arimidex for 2 years now, and of all the side effects have only really learnt to manage the hot flushes and night sweats. The hand pain and stiffness in the mornings, waddling round on stiff legs after sitting or lying for more than half an hour etc, these symptoms have never improved for me. Certainly Panafon osteo helps a lot, so long as I remember to take it regularly. I tried fish oil, glucosamine, krill oil-all they did was Mack me vomit! Lol! So already with a "dicky hip", I need heavy drugs for joint/muscle pain. I keep telling myself that the pain is far better than risking the mets in my back increasing in size or spreading. It's been static for 3 years. Keep checking in here and sharing with us, as I will look out for your comments. It really does help to share and have a sense if belonging and "sisterhood". Sounds like plan. You and your friend have a great day by just relaxing and taking in the beauty that God has created. It will be nice for you to just sit there, sip on your earm drink and enjoy.
