One thing after another!

I have neuropathy in my hands and feet pretty bad so oncologist has put chemo on hold for the last 2 weeks. I have been having paclitaxel fortnightly. Next week she is changing the drug and it will be weekly. Pretty bummed about that as i was due to finish chemo next week and now i won't finish until end of November.

Also, my mum has found a lump in her breast and is due for a biopsy in 2 weeks. Not sure we could cope if we both had cancer at the same time...
  • I refused to continue with Taxol after 3 weeks when my neuropathy became intolerable.  I was put back on FEC for the last one.  I was told that it was very rare for someone to react as badly to it as I did :(
I was just petrified of carrying on and suffering permanent damage.  And I honestly just could not deal with the burning and stinging on my hands and feet.  It had me in tears and scratching and literally going mad.  I am so sorry to hear about your mum, and hope it is just a false alarm. HUGS XXX

  • I have my fingers crossed for your Mum  Tarnya, I hope its just a cyst.
  • I still have residual neuropathy in my fingers and toes 5 months after stopping chemo :( I know it's disheartening that you have had a change to your regime, but it's for the best.....hopefully it will give you some relief from the neuropathy....Sending prayers LOUDLY to the universe for your Mum's lump to be only a cyst.......best wishes - Tracy
  • I am thinking it is a cyst but you never know. Just feeling a bit down at the moment because of the delay because now everything else is delayed
  • Almost there. Better to change than to risk it. Hope your Mum's lump is just a cyst. Fingers crossed.
