Hot flushes

Hi Ladies,

You have all probably worked this out already, but just incase...

The other night, I got the pedestal fan out and put it on low, mainly because it was hot in my room.  But to my delight, I discovered that it works a treat for hot flushes.

Still get them, but just kick off covers and there is this cooling breeze floating over me.  Fall back to sleep in no time flat.

As I said, probably verrrry old news to most, but if it helps just one lady, then I am a happy camper.

Cheers Deers

  • Hi Jan I have hand fans everywhere. Not sure if this helps but daisio has small hand fans that will fit in your hand bag, these are just the right size. Hope the weather is good for your sons wedding.

  • I have had hot flushes (20-30/day) since I had to stop HRT in July (reason I went on HRT in the first place!) c/o early breast cancer and will be on Letrozole (for 10 years) after radiotherapy .

I have hand fans in every room and ceiling fans too. Also have x2 battery fans that hang around my neck and blow air upwards - great when you need your hands free??

Now on search for perfect hand fan to match my outfit for sons wedding in 4 weeks??

Got to love the Internet- shopping!

  • Sorry me again, bringing back memories ladies.  As I said I'm not on hormone drugs so my menopause was natural.  When the hot flushes were a problem my daughter brought me natural remedy spray stuff - don't know anymore but it had amongst other things wild geranium oil - smelt nice and remember it was cool and relaxed me and seemed to help with severity.

  • Hi, I use a little desk fan on my bedside table, directed on my face .I keep hand fans all over the house and in my handbag. If I feel a flush coming on then I fan myself before it takes hold.I also take a bottle of cold water with me and drink when a flush comes on.xx

  • I had "normal"hot flushes pre cancer, so suppose much the same.  Yep fans work a treat.  But I also found that you had to stay awake until you cooled, and recover up as I ended up with very sore knees I attributed to the cool breeze once I fell asleep.

Yep that's the way to go. My hubby installed a ceiling fan above our bed, and it works a treat. Keep smiling, Trace ??????
