ANASTROZOLE/ARIMIDEX

Morning Girls :)

I have always suffered reactive skin, my whole life but now its is uncontrollable.. No cream the Doctors throws at it seems to have an effect, the only relief I get is from a course of Dexemethesone or Prednisnolone but within 3 days its starting to reappear & I know I cant (& dont want to) stay on long term steroids..

I am currently on Arimidex/Anastrozole..... has anyone else suffered skin issues on this drug??? I am only now starting to see that it became uncontrollable around the time I started on this drug...

Cate
  • Hi Cate, I developed hives with my first chemo (epirubicin part of fec) which was treated with steroids during the infusion, but I started hormone therapy (letrozole and zoladex) with my chemo. About 4 days after chemo, I came out in a fine rash mostly to my legs and face. Dr gave me hydrocortisone 2%cream which I used for about a week, and I also started loratadine 10mg daily which I am continuing for the remainder of my chemo. Not sure if it's the chemo or hormone therapy though as I'm having them together. Rash hasn't come back, Good luck! Kate
  • Hey Cate!!! Oh boy skin rash?? Ive been on Arimidex for over a year and haven't suffered any skin rashes at all. Is it possible it could be something else?? Hugs Melinda xo
  • Hi Cate, about a week after I started Arimidex I noticed a slightly raised rash on the side of my neck. Almost like a non itchy prickly heat.  It hung around for about 2 weeks then went away by itself.  Fortunately 5 months on and it's hasn't returned.  Sorry to hear you are having this reaction, hope you can find something to help. Jane xx
  • @brightspace, thanks I will.

I cant believe my "Team" did not think to mention it to me, they have looked at & remarked on my skin issues the entire time but offered no help or explanation.
  • Hi cate maybe check out the us  breast cancer.org  group they have lots of posts discussing this side effect
