I'm a 34 year old mum of one and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July. I'm due to start chemo in 2 days and I'm freaked out!!!! I had a lumpectomy and feel like I've done a whole lot of waiting since and have had too much time to think! Just wanted to say hi!!
well I'm surviving, just feeling a little bit sorry for myself really! not a place a want to be
Had first cycle on monday and have had the biggest headache since then which I cant shift, feel a bit sick today, more tender throughout my whole body, not moving aorund too quickly but going for a walk on the beach this morning with the dog to get some fresh air and some sun, also another hair cut today!
Have ordered a few head scarfs online and waiting for these goodies to turn up :-)
hubby is back at work so on my own which is hard, mum and dad on other side of the world which I'm really feeling this week :-(

Hi Toni!! Just wanting to see how you got on!! It is alot to take on board hope you survived the first cycle ok. You are right though there's not alot of support for women our age!! Try not to worry too much about what the naturopath says, they will always tell you the opposite of a doctor!!! Do what you feel is right for you and eat when you want!! If you need any good sites for hats I have 2 that I've ordered from, one is called hat house and the other is hat show both Aussie online sites and prompt delivery. Thanks for the tips on the wigs!! I'm going to have a look only at this point I do have heaps of hats and scarves so if I decide to go that way I'm prepared!! @jpink would love to here how you are getting on as I am having TAC also for 6 sessions followed by 6 weeks of radiation. I started today so I'm feeling emotionally tired today, but onwards and upwards I say....1 down 5 to go!!!!
I am at the other end of the tunnel...lumpectomy last Nov, 4 cycles TC 3 cycles FEC, 7 wks radio...and hair growing back nicely!! I was 31 when I was diagnosed. Unfortunately there is a lot of waiting in this process but you will get there...At times it will be hard but somewhere in all the mess your mind starts to sort itself out !! I hope your first chemo went ok. For me chemo was one week off work and two weeks of part time work over the 7 cycles. It did have what I would describe as a cumulitive effect over that time, so I got more tired as the treatment went on, but remember its worth it!!! All the best

I am 38 with 3 kids, diagnosed in July, had a left masectomy. I am having 6 cycles of TAC, 3 weeks apart. I have just had my 2nd chemo last Friday. My hair started falling out 11 days after the first chemo session.
This time seems to be going better than the first one, although maybe I am more prepared this time round.

Where abouts in sydney?? Hmmmm maybe worth inquiring through my health fund then!! Thanks for that. I'm not as anxious as I would have been if I didn't have a portacath...seems that's going to save a lot of hassle. Sooner I start sooner I finish I say. Hope you are traveling ok. Take care xo
