Hi Ladies.....sorry to have not been back sooner!
Pathology results show Intraductal Papilloma & benign breast change. No further treatment required.
To say I feel I dodged a bullet is an understatement! I had a long list of questions for the consultant, felt I had to be prepared for further treatment, but to be honest once she said the word benign I just said ‘Thank f**k for that!’......apologised for swearing...and the rest of what she said pretty much went over my head!
Actually they didn’t really tell me much. I did remember to ask for a copy of the pathology results, which she handed to me. They took the remaining half stuck steri strips off incision and nurse said yep, all healing well and just told me to wear a supportive crop top type thing for a while, and showed me how to massage scar tissue area twice a day.
i asked what happens from here, and apparently I just go back into the normal 2 yearly mammogram screening. I must admit now I thinking I will try and go yearly. My thinking is I could possibly get another similar lesion pop up, and they can’t be felt at all, only picked up on mammogram. The smaller they are found, the less they have to biopsy!
Net1970.....can you feel an actual lump, or was it one only found on mammogram/ultrasound?
