Hello, I'm Nicole, I'm 27 years old and I have just been diagnosed with early breast cancer, I have a strong family history of the disease and looking for a support group. I'm feeling pretty scared and anxious at the moment.

  • Hi Nicole - welcome to the group that no-one thought they would ever be in It's perfectly normal to feel anxious, scared, angry - my story is I was 37 diagnosed June 2013, early breast cancer, lumpectomy, chemo, radiation, herceptin infusions for 12 months & now on tamoxifen for 5 years - it's one hell of a ride, if I can offer you some words that may surprise you now but you will reflect back & hopefully agree - "you've never been more loved than now" you will get through this & come out the other side - take one day at a time, deep slow breaths xxx
  • Hello again Nicole. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. If you have triple negative breast cancer, this means that you do not have any of the three types of receptors commonly found on breast cancer cells.  The three receptors are: Oestrogen receptors (ER)Progesterone receptors (PR)Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). This type of cancer responds well to chemo but is agressive. Only 15 percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer are triple negative. xx
