I don't have anything to add that the others don't except to say that I understand how Asperger's will colour your experience of treatment. I hope that the medical professionals that you have are open and understanding of the difficulties you face with navigating the medical system - as you say, bright lights, noises, etc. There is beginning of acceptance that neurodiversity is not a disability on it's own, rather a different way of processing the world but that it does come with challenges, some of them severe.
