First appointment with a surgeon
So my first appointment with a surgeon is this coming Wednesday. I am going through a public system in Brisbane. Will I be having any tests done on the same day or is it more likely that he will tell...

Mine was over 8 years ago now Kari210 - back then, they didn't do MRIs or anything other than the MG, US and Biopsy! Tho my surgeon DID do his own US as well, in his surgery, to be sure, to be sure! I was also given the quote for the 'gap', as I'd chosen to go private to have the surgery done asap rather than wait for a public surgeon. My surgeon was the BEST.
So - my biopsy was tested over the Xmas/New Year period & I saw the Surgeon on his first day back in the office after the Xmas break on the Mon. I had the dye put in for the Sentinel Node test on Tues (to identify the nodes that the tumours were draining to) and then I had my surgery on the Wed, staying in overnight - I had a lumpectomy including Sentinel Node removal!!
Take care & all the best - make sure you have a trusted friend or family member with you as an extra set of ears & also for support. And also consider recording it (and all following appts) so you can go over it again later - as it is impossible to remember everything that is said at the time. You can then go over it again in the quiet of your home & make notes xx
