Well I discovered my mistake and after two weeks of regular visits to my GP to get my infected burn area cleaned up I am feeling good, well almost. I was careless in week 3 after treatment when the blisters came up - a hard lesson to learn. Now that I have googled pictures of other burns I am so pleased I had not seen those before all of this. I was very smelly from the discharge from the infection but once we had it identified and onto the right antibiotics, I started to see improvement. The infection was resistant to most antibiotics so we had to get special permission for me to take this fancy one. On Friday, 2 weeks after first going to my wonderful GP, and 9 visits later, we finally got to the point where we didn't need to clean it up and/or put new dressings on it. I even got to have a full body shower on Saturday - oh what bliss. Now one of my feet is playing up but this time I got onto it straight away with a physio visit to my house and another one coming up this week. Still, it is not moogoo's fault, just mine. The whole process was not as painful as I had expected and it is looking pretty good (sorry no pictures). I finish my antibiotics next Wednesday then the next chapter begins, Tamoxifen. I can hear the drum roll and instructions - onwards and upwards Kay.
