I used pure sorbolene cream (no glycerine). It was what my clinic reccommended. I also had a squirty bottle of chilled water in the frig, and would spray the cold water straight over newly applied cream and dab off the worst sloppiness. This treatment relieved the heat for a while very well. I also found that the cream washed out of my cheap cotton soft bras very well. Gel, as @kezmusc reports, can be very good if you start to blister, crack and peel (LOL). For me, my skin healed up very quickly after the end of treatment.
