Thurs 25th Feb day before 3rd chemo
Thursday, 25th Feb. Yesterday was a pretty good day although long. I got dropped off by Les at 8.30am to my sis and she dropped me down later on to the GP Dr and blood test and picked me up afterwards to have lunch with her and I hung out at her place until Les picked me up again to go home just after 3. GP wrote me a couple of scripts for this and that of chemo side affects. Nothing exciting just eye drops and ointment for any skin infections and a Targin pain killer renewal. The pathology nurse had a throat infection and no voice much and she pulled me out of the others waiting for tests as she knows I still have good veins and I am a quickie job. No problems at all and she still has the magic tough and I felt no pain.
Today my wonderful neighbours made their shopping day Thursday this week especially so they could run me in to town for my oncology and physio appointment and they even took me to Subway for lunch first. Yum! Oncology Dr said I am good to go for tomorrow 3rd round of chemo and my blood work this time is very good. My physio wasn’t so lovely. I have been given a lyphodema sleeve and gauntlet and the gauntlet part make doing things difficult as its my do everything hand. You can see I spilled my coffee already by the couple of drop on my shirt in the photo. I guess I will get used to it and she said at least a few hours a day it must stay on. I will wear my favourite shirt tomorrow (I have a new favourite) to my 3rd dose of chemo and get the nurse to take my photo during chemo 11.30am till 3 or 4pm.

Brenda - when I see your photo with the sleeve it takes my breath away as it looks uncomfortable - I am sure it is doing the job it is meant to do.
Nice nails!
Good luck with the balance of your chemo treatment.
Take care

No the seams on the inside as well. It was worth a look tho. :)

Brenda, just a thought - can you turn the gauntlet inside out so the seam sticks out rather than in? Might help to take the pressure off your thumb???

Mind you I haven't actual met my 75yr old father yet. That's coming up as soon as I can travel interstate to meet him. We are both on cancer treatment (his is in his bones) and busting to meet each other asap.

Yes I have heterochromis eyes. One is blue with flecks of brown and the other is brown with some bluish green up the top. No one else in my family seems to have it.

Thanks Eileen and good luck for your auxillary surgery next month too.
I don't want to alarm anyone on the lymphedema, its only in my forearm near the elbow and after a couple of weeks waiting for the sleeve to arrive I have managed to massage it down out of my arm all but 2mm left of the swelling so this is more a prevention thing to stop it coming back up again.

She said even if I can keep the sleeve on a few hours a day it will help. The gauntlet's not very good tho, the seam cuts across a vein in my thumb and after half an hour its tingly and I have to take it off. I will just have to do it in an on again off again affair.

After I got it clipped to 3cm it grew a little more before much of it fell out. I am clinging to the last bits I have. This time on the 2nd chemo not much more fell out but every second prickle on my legs has. Saves shaving.
