StrataXRT - Has anyone used it for radiation?

When I told the radiologist that I'd used Stratamed on my scar line, she said "if you can afford it then buy StrataXRT for radiation".
She explained that they used mepilin on all their patients but if I wanted to bring in my own StrataXRT then she'd be happy to use it.
"We would, but it's too expensive".

My chemist could not get it thru their Stratamed supplier who'd never heard of it so I contacted Stratapharm in Switzerland and said I needed it by the end of the month.
I will have 2 x 10 gram tubes arriving within 2 working days at a cost of $385. I might need more. I'll know in plenty of time next time.
You put it on every day before treatment.

Anyone know anything about it?

  • P.s please don’t put any creams on within 30mins before treatment. They need time to soak in fully. If a layer of cream is left on the skin the therapists should wipe it off as it actually causes a build up affect. Pop creams on straight after :)
  • We use strata x for our head and neck patients as they often get an extreme skin reaction. It is wonderful stuff! Very expensive, we provide it for our patients so it is kept just for head and neck routinely but if needed we apply it for other areas. Our breast patients all get offered mepitel if suitable, solugel is also provided if needed.
