Anyone used StrataXRT

@duxx1234 Thank you, Maureen. ! I loved my hair. It went silver over a period of four months when I was 46, during an extremely stressful period, and I was delighted with the result. 23 weeks since beginning of chemo, my hair is now growing back - about .5 cm long now (someone called it bum-fluff), and white. I could live with white, but I do hope the silver returns. I really don't want the frizzy curls some people get - though someone told me, she had that for nearly two years, then it went back to her lovely thick straight style. My profile photo was taken in Feb last year, on a very happy night in Paris. I'm 75 now. Fran

@JoeyLiz No, the nodes they excised were clear so they're not treating that area. Thanks so much for that information. Fran x

@Flaneuse are you having your nodes treated? If so then yes the strata on your clavicle area and right over your shoulder and top part of your back. If no nodes then ok to stick to breast, add about an extra 3cm further than your tattoos, does that make sense? 

@JoeyLiz You are a goldmine of advice ! @duxx1234 Sorry you're suffering so much. After readings some stories and looking at a couple of photos, I'm quite confused about the extent to which I should apply the StrataXRT before my radiation starts on 3 Sept. I've been applying it to the area they marked out around my breast. But it seems I need to do it on my neck and shoulder as well. And the décolletage area? And part of my midriff under the breast? I think I'll ring the nurse this morning and ask. I've had a bad night - another 2 am without sleep and got up and made sleepy tea and read until about 3 am or so. Didn't wake until 09:20. So I need to get going now.

Thanks so much @JoeyLiz for your wonderful advice.  The Mepitel is doing a great job protecting my breast. Unfortunately the burns are higher up on my chest just above my clavicle and on my neck so they are not protected.  I did think I had missed the boat re using the Strata! The nurse gave me a sample of Solosite yesterday and I used that last night.  The burn is very tight this morning but doesn’t look as red. I will use the Solosite as well as the moo goo and hope that it clears up.  You are right, it is all about managing it now!  Not long to go now! Fortunately my breast is ok. Hi @duxx1234 so sorry to hear your skin has suffered so badly. The strata is best used as a preventative barrier before the reaction starts, if it wasn't so expensive I'd say buy a small tube and slap everything on at your poor skin. It sounds as though you were unfortunately going to get a nasty reaction whatever you did as the mepitel film usually does the trick without the need for extra moisturizers. I think your best bet is to manage your reaction now, do you have solugel? If so keep it in the fridge, apply, let dry then apply moo goo over the top. Are they using dressings on the blisters? Mepilex lite is a great dressing for the high friction areas such as under your breast, armpit and bra strap. Also try and go braless as much as you can.
After you finish treatment there are different dressings that are able to be used including silver which work wonders. Hang in there! Xx
P.s please ensure the radiation nurses are reviewing your skin regularly, they know a lot more about the specific skin care than us radiation therapists

I have just had radiation #22 of 30 today and using the Mepitel as well as Moo Goo cream. I have burns on my neck and chest which are quite sore and very red and blistered. The moo goo doesn’t seem to be making any difference.  Would it be too late to start using the Strataderm SXRT cream now?  I had heard about it before starting radiation but because of the cost, decided to go with Moo Goo. Do you have any advice please @JoeyLiz?  Many thanks.

@Flaneuse always best to check. Ive been told to apply SXRT twice a day and wear mepitel film as long as i can stand (at the very least during radiation). They said it was ok to use moogoo too. I usually apply first thing in morning and before bed at night. 

@Josephine66 Thanks for that. I plan to phone a radiation nurse and ask about using MooGoo as well as StrataXRT. When they gave me the SXRT they didn't say to use anything else as well.
