- RomlaMemberBoth the products I used seemed more absorbent , calming and less gucky than sorbolene
- RomlaMemberMy radiotherapy centre no longer provides sorbolene for after treatment in the change rooms - they provide a choice of a herbal product and Cetaphil. I used the herbal product at the centre , Dermaveen at home and was fine

I used a fragrance free soap to shower with and applied Sorbolene cream 3 times a day. I found it better to go bra less as often as possible and pat area dry don't rub!! I too got itchy and the nurse told me to used a litre of boiled water, allowed to cool with a teaspoon of salt. I kept this in the fridge and then soaked a flannel and held it on the spot. I was lucky in that I didn't burn too much but it still took about three weeks for redness to go.
best of luck.

I oops two more hints that worked for me waited a month from last rad session until starting tamafin which meant I was a bit of a side effect clean slate and recovered from one treatment before the next. Also planned a holiday to draw a line in treatment sand and get on with life!

Loved solugel and once had a tear and solugel fixed it over night. I had a straight forward 'journey' but I found having treatments first thing in am easy for me and I was a hour late for work. The fatigue crept on me so I booked a weeks leave for second last week and then another time oncologist suggested a few days off. I thought I would get the whole red angry looking experience and I did but not painful and they booked a nurse to see me and change dressings daily : dressings included a cute little vest made out of gauze so that appealed. It all settles down and no lasting signs for me: the fatigue was a surprise but machine broke down for a few days I had a break and noticed energy levels creep up so that was good for morale that this was a passing experience and just support fatigue and conserve energy. Best wishes

I had 30 treatments , make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Sorbelene soap, crystal stick deodarent, keep your creams in the fridge . I used to apply a gel cool pack to my breast after treatment to cool it down , I would take it with me in a freezer back and put it on as I drove to work. Everyone has different creams and I'm sure it's entirely up to you. I used aloe vera, and solugel. Watch out for radiation dermatitis which becomes very itchy, as soon as you get itchy get them to give you a script for a cream which I cannot remember.i burnt badly but it went away very quickly. And lots of rest by the end it does hit you. I'm 4 years post diagnosis. All the best to you regards adean
