Radiation Finished!!

I've now finished my radiation!!! Slightly overcooked, but my skin is holding up well. Could get worse before it gets better, so I'm prepared. I slathered on the sorbelene twice a day & think that this helped. I'm still recovering from the chemo with aching muscles. Hard to know if it's from the chemo or from exercising again. I also have ongoing lymphodema in my left arm & swelling in my feet (cankles). My hair's growing again. My son teased me that it's more salt than pepper, but I won't be dying it anytime soon. I still have herceptin until next January & will be starting on hormontherapy soon.

That's the worst of it done & dusted. Yes!!

Take care, Wendy

  • Good on you Wendy.

Good to hear from you and so glad you are finished your radiation and chemo.

I'm so glad i didnt have to have radiotherapy. Are you back home yet or still in Townsville?

NOthing wrong with salt and pepper hair. I wont be dying my new hair so what ever comes out is how it will stay.

Hope you stay well and thinking about you often.

Take Care xoxoxo Chrissy D :)

  • Yippee ... let celebrate...

p.s. salt & pepper hair : if you don't mind you look now,  just keep shaving the salt and pepper hair for a month - it might strengthen your hair follicle & fingers cross the salt-colour disappeared.  Personally, I keep shaving for about 2 months - I figured I've didn't want to discard my Wig and scarves just yet ;)

  • Good on you!  Another treatment door closed - hair growing back and soon to be free of the chemo and radio aches and pains.  Yippee!  Are you celebrating?
