Radiation burns

@LMK74 I have read of ladies wearing a tight singlet under their bra. It might be more comfortable. 

Solugel kept in the fridge is excellent as is a cabbage leaf straight from the crisper 

I hope your skin feels better soon. I was helped by a nurse who was attached to the radiotherapy place. She was very helpful and changed the creams I was using as the burns got worse. I remember thinking I didn’t want to go back for my final week because they kept burning my burns. 

I used a cream that was like one for nappy rash, but can’t remember the name of it now, when it started to burn down a level. There was also a great gel for burns which was amazing. Calendula cream was good when my skin started to improve. I didn’t have a lot of pain because of nerve damage. All the best with your skin healing. When I stopped radiotherapy it seemed to heal quite quickly. 

I too burned pretty bad especially where I had lymph nodes removed i am left with burn scarring around the scar! The nurses applied a burn gel which was so soothing instantly and put gauze on it.. it will get better and it will heall xx

Thanks ladies for your replies and advice. I was using pure aloe Vera in a tube from the chemist and the rads nurses told me to stop using it. Wtf,it's all natural and they say it's drying my skin out. I will try the bio oil for a few days and see how it goes. The most annoying part is not being able to wear a bra as the constant rubbing tears the skin. Oh well eventually it will heal.

Hi, I can’t remember the name, but I was given a burn treatment cream which I slathered on and then taped a piece of gladwrap on top which meant I could put clothes over it

Oh that looks so sore. Bio oil is what I would suggest as it’s what I use on all my scars. I feel for you xxx

Mepitel is offered in the public system but unfortunately not everybody is suitable particularly large breasted ladies and also people with extra sensitive skin.

I had radiation 4 years ago. Finished 11 Nov 2013. I was told that it is always worse for those of us who have had a mastectomy. My skin held up very well and only reddened in the final week. But the reaction worsened (as I was warned it could) after radiation came to an end.

 My skin under the arm and on the chest turned black and flaked off. It was very moist looking but I was told this was because I had kept it well moisturised during radiation. Underneath the skin was pink and healthier looking but it was a month before I could wear my bra and a soft prosthesis comfortably. I remember being so frustrated and upset because treatment was finally over but I was stuck inside unable to wear a bra etc. I used pure Aloe Vera and my skin healed really well in time to enjoy Christmas and even swimming again. 

At this stage the damage is done and it is just a matter of time. I found just keeping it moist seemed to be all I could do until the damaged skin finished coming off. Everyone kept telling me once it started to heal it would heal quickly. They were right but I was still terribly upset and just wanted it to be over so I could start to move forward again. It is a very difficult time. Wishing you a speedy recovery. xxx

Ouch!  I don't have any advice, but ouch that looks sore!  I hope you heal quickly.
