Radiation and Med treatment only

Hi there, new to all of this--had surgery mid august for small cancer growth and one lymph node removed- unfortunately small growth there; and team at private hospital recommended chemo, radiation --i found this difficult to adjust to --so was pleasantly surprised when oncologist said his recommendation was radiation 3-6 weeks and medication.  I feel this is 'right'  but on this website it does seem to be non standard treatment.  Any ideas on radiation and how it affects you--any hints on working etc --take some afternoons off--some weeks off?

best wishes everyone

  • I had lumpectomy node removal and then 30 sessions of radiotherapy I used to have radio and then drive to work the entire treatment . I did not feel tired until probably the last week of the booster treatment and then I just had a few earlly nights. I burnt very badly and was having dressings 4times a day . And have had a few complications post, but i felt very strong all the time , but everyone is different , I'm actually more tired now 10 months later. I'm on tamoxifen . I only regret I wish I had taken a bit of time of during treatment but I was trying to be invincible but we do what we do. Regards adean
