Photos, my hair calendar - Month by month, 10 months post chemo

My hair has started growing back rapidly whilst on The weekly taxol and seems quite thick. An incredible amount of white in mine (even my eyebrows and pubes are white) so after having a few wiry greys in all regions it seems to be the main colour now. I kinda hope the silver stays as it would be enough to do away with the hair streaking now and just focus on good makeup. ...which I have learned a lot about since bald. Looking forward to some hair length. Lovely to leave the scarves off more now as my head is not so cold. Kath x

Have had my second chemo now but my hair left with the first one . Have two more AC to go plus 12 weekly Taxol so it looks like a while till I find out if I get beautiful Chemo curls like yours.  Mine had gone completely grey in the last few months so wouldn't mind a bit of colour back. Am doing okay with the treatment but very tired.  All the best, hugs Kester xx

Good luck with the next phase of surgery!  I didn't have drains for my recon surgery so hopefully you won't need them either!

Aaauw thanks Liana.  Hang in there honey, you will be just fine.  I also had Lymphnodes removed 'auxiliary clearance' after my mastectomy because during my mastectomy my margins seemed to be good but pathology from lymphondes came back few days later and whallah!  It had spread so I had to go back.  Hair loss i a huge thing I think for us all but to be honest it turned out to be not that bad at all (coming from someone that has always valued her outer appearance).  I loved wearing scarfs that matched my clothes and felt very femine with them.  I ended up hardly wearing a wig cause it is itchy and hot and looks unnatural for me.

Those darn drains!!! They usually keep us in longer than we like hey.  I am due for final recon surgery next monday and really hope my drains drain quicker than when I had my mastectomies.

Thank you for your photos...because I've been wondering how long will it take for the hair to grow back. I've been feeling anxious since my doc told me that I have to have chemo. Especially I've booked to go on holidays with my family in January... I'm still in hospital for my lymph nodes removal just waiting for the drain to be less than 20ml so I can go home. Now I know what to expect....thanks so much NE and I think you look cute and keep on smiling because you have a beautiful smile..

Thank you Linda.  I did put my thinning scissors through the top part at one stage because the fro was getting out of hand.  I dont see why you cant have the ends trimmed.  It would make it look healthy.
