Pain after Radiation

Hi, I was hoping some of you lovely ladies might be able to help me ?? I am 10 weeks out of Radiation treatment and am still getting excruciating pain in my breasts ( particularly the left where I received more and stronger rads ) this pain literally doubles me up and fair takes my breath away.... Is this normal ? Can't see my breast surgeon till May and the only other person I have met is my Rad Onc and he told me everything should be right as rain within 2 weeks! Am now keeping myself awake at night worrying that things are worse than I thought if I am having such awful pain. I would love to hear from anyone who is still ( or did ) experience pain after 2 weeks

thanks in anticipation

  • Thank you ladies, you know , I never even thought to call the Breast Nurse ! Not sure which appt I left my ' thinking brain ' at ?? will call her now . Have a good day everyone .

  • I am 6 weeks out of radium and have a very sore boob. Very sore on the weekend with burning sensation. See my radium oncologist Thursday. Like you am concerned why the pain is still here or getting worse, hoping she will have some answers. Try and stay positive and contact your breast nurse to see if she can shed some light on the soreness.

  • I would get this checked. I dont recall being in such pain. I would ring the hospital and get an earlier appointment as it will put your kind at ease.

  • Have you a breast care nurse whom you can contact?  Mine told me to ring her with any concerns, and she is lovely.
