I was so glad to read some of these responses. I start chemo in two weeks. I work part time and my work is contract/temporary. For both financial and emotional reasons I really want to keep working. Nearly everyone has been saying 'you won't be able to manage'....I know everyone is different and will cope if I can't work but reading this gave me some hope that I might be able to. Thanks Scalena for the little bit of hope in the midst if chaos.

Family are wonderful aren't they ? My daughter, hubby and sis in law all shaved their heads and raised over $3000 for breast cancer research. My sis in law is keeping her hair short until mine starts to grow, so we can grow our hair together. What a privilege ??

Love it!  Glad the maintenance is going to be easy.  The swelling seems to have reduced,  so that's good. The hair fascinates me it's kinda fun pulling it out.  I'm like a kid with a new toy. Got to find ways to enjoy the present.  Thanks for your lovely words.

Hi Karii, you're doing well.  It will be what it is for you.  You cannot predict.  I was pleasantly surprised in a way,  I guess I knew the worst,  and when it wasn't that bad,  for long,  then that was a relief.  I just stay focused on the end game.  Good luck and wiggle your toes! (try it when you get scared).

Hi there, So glad to hear you are feeling not too bad and can still work.  I start chemo on Monday (FEC) and have been trying to stay positive so that even though I am bound to feel pretty crappy some of the time I am determined not to sit around and wait to feel sick.  So many people trying to tell me that I shouldn't plan or hope for too much in case I get disappointed (they mean well I am sure).  Hope all results go well for you. Hang in there beautiful.  I remember seeing hair fall out everywhere day 14 post first chemo.  I had my hair clipped by my hairdresser recently so there's just a little stubble.  My teenage daughter thinks it's fantastic I don't have to worry about my legs!! LOL.

Waiting for any results is the worst.

Thanks Tracey, looks like it's nothing to worry about,  possibly just a bit of a seroma,  but it seems to be reabsorbing. I'm told this can happen with chemo. I have such wonderful friends and family and work colleagues,  they all help make this journey easier.  My beautiful daughter posted a surprise on Facebook that she is raising money for breast cancer,  she has touched my heart like the rainbow I saw in my rear vision mirror on the way home from the oncologist!  I feel so blessed.
