@Sooz, I didn't even consider the test as I was known to be node positive from diagnosis. I ended up having chemo first.
In terms of the cost, there are so many things to take into account even if everything goes well. You have blood tests before every cycle of chemo. You have an appointment with your oncologist the day of or the day before each cycle. Each chemo session, whilst an outpatient episode, requires contact with administrative support staff, pharmacy staff, nursing staff, cleaning and other support staff. Each chemo session can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours.
The cost savings per person found to not require chemo would be more than adequate to cover the cost of the test.
The more people tbat are saved from the long term consequences of chemo, the better. So, in spite of it not being relevant to my experience, I will now write to my local member, and again after the election if my local member changes, or if the government changes
