Hi Sonia!
Glad to hear to hear you are having minimal side effects!
I have had Nuelasta twice now and I have found the bone pain hits me within 24hours.... :( No amount of positivity on my part stops it from coming! I do not tolerate high end pain killers at all, so I've learnt, the hard way, not to rely on them. I have been taking regular Panadol every four hours, but they only seem to last two hours. I have found that walking around the house can help with the pain too. The Drs have indicated to me that it's the chemo causing the pain, but I found apart from the normal side effects I get from chemo, the pain did not happen until I had the injection. The nurse who gave it to me this time actually specified that it would give me bone pain....I told her i already knew that! LOL!
It's now Day 5 since my injection (Day 6 since chemo) and I'm finding the pain is getting less frequent. I found the first time the pain was completely gone by Day 8 (from chemo).
Some people take Nurofen, but check with your Drs as I have been told not to take Nurofen as not only causes other problems...it can effect your white cell count anyways....Some have suggested Panadol Osteo as it is stronger, but you only take it every 8 hours....In the end whatever works for you, do it...but whatever you do, don't be brave and wait for the pain to get bad! It will get on top of you...forearmed is forewarned
Wishing you all the best for easy recovery and beautiful days!
Tracy
