A "selfy" of myself after a month following 7 hits of chemo. Still wear the wig when I go out, but it gets hot (hot flushes), My lungs are behaving now, seem to be almost back to normal, and although I am still tired and have an arvo sleep, taking it easy most of the time. I am happy the majority of the time, curious about what the Radiation for 6 weeks will be like, but assume that it will be ok, Love Bel

Donna, I couldnt have put it better myself....and yes, my sense of humour is like yours, and I laughed at what you wrote too. I had long hair too, and it seems to be a common thing, we who didnt want to let go of the long hair, ended up with the extreme opposite. Pffffft, funny how life is hey Donna. I went through all the drama about the wig, and have been just wear girls beanies/ hats, and pulling it off when I get hot. Mind you I just go to appointments and am too tired to do much else. So not many people see me who arent going through sh..... themselves and totally understand. Also, the queen of make-up who wouldnt leave the house without it , I also head off each day for Radiation up the road and dont care. All I think is "No-one will recognised me anyway!" Which is amusing to me because no-one knows me anyway! (we moved here a year ago, and am only an expert of the hospitals and doctors offices). Time for a sleep! xx love Bel

Its funny when I knew I was to have chemo the thing I was most upset about was loosing my hair, its was long and think and I guess part of my identity.
My son was so upset with me that I was concered about something so superficial and I knew he was right but it still bothered me.
Now I am used to no hair in hosptial this week I thought bugger the scarf it was way to hot, this is who I am now and thats that.
Bel, I am sure your husband loves you no matter what, try something completely different with your hair as its a new start.

Lovely compliment Donna, but rule no 1. : Never compare ourselves to one another (well that one took me 40 years to not do!) Between you and I - I call this hair cut "The Prisoner" but it all depends on what day it is. Well, I do have a dry sense of humour, not intended to offend anyone........I hope youre laughing now........oh, yes, I have always wanted short, natural hair, it is so quick to do in the mornings. See I can look on the bright side too! hahahahahaha
Here is a secret about me girls. I assume most of you know I was a hairdresser for 20 years, it replaced children, and relationships, it was that important (smiling). During that time I had such strong ideas about my hair, I did my apprenticeship during the 80's and was Queen Perm and "never get your hair wet in public". Last 10 years, after Id had every hairstyle, every colour, I began to "mature" and for me, loved long hair and was so proud of it. It was a hobby styling my hair, it was the only thing I could change every day about myself and I was happy. So happy it rarely changed and I always thought "When I reach 40 I should get it cut off" Getting married a week before I turned 40 I was delighted to have long hair and my white dress, Id never been married before, but cant say I was a virgin. (heheeheh). My husband loves long hair, and I love long hair, but maybe I will be happy to have it half way and he does like the bob. I think ultimately he loves me no matter what, and how silly am I to care about that hair so much. Ol' habits.......well you know the rest! (big smile) love Bel
