Met the Radiotherapist

Yesterday an appointment had been made to see Dr Martin Borg who will be my radiotherapist. He told me I was borderline to have radiotherapy but it was highly recommended that I did have it - didn't really feel like an option.

This won't happen until a month after my chemo finishes (which is 2 lots of 3 months). It will involve treatment 5 days a week for 6 weeks - yippee!!!! They'll mark the area to treat. I'll get burns like sun burn but hopefuly not painful. I won't be radioactive so can see people! ... that's about all I remember for the moment. Too much....

Don't want to think about that till I have to...

BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!

  • Hi Erica,

Yep its all a bit much to take in, so take one step at a time, I didnt have too much trouble with radio, just well creamed to help with the skin but didnt get much side effects, just a bit tired near the latter stage. 6 weeks seems like a long time but this journey is full of ups and downs, so keep taking it step by step. Look forward to hearing how you go. Thanks for joining us on here.

    Regards Moira
