Due to COVID, I only had one face to face appointment prior to starting R/ T. That Appointment was Dr, Nurse and scan. I’m sure you will see a nurse. They would advise you.

The nurses are good about replacing it anytime. I’m good so far. But only finished 15 of 25 treatments. Are you doing it privately or public? Were there nurses there to talk to?
I have only seen the oncologist no nurse, I guess when I go on Tuesday for my CT scan I might meet them? I am going to the GCUH which is public Did you go private or public. I had my surgery private. - ChezaHMemberLeia said:I used Strata XRT and was very happy with it. It is quite expensive if the Centre doesn’t provide it, but I got a 40% discount using the code my radiation Centre gave me.. it’s a gel which you apply very thinly before radiation & again at night. The nurses applied it for me the first session just to show me how it goes on. I’d get up and slather on moisturizer, wait two hours then apply the gel. It also means You have the weekend free. The instructions say to use it 24/7, and keep using after rads finishes until you see no more improvement. It forms a thin film which works the same as Mepitel.
good luck with it, hope it all goes well for you.
Thank you Cheryl - ChezaHMemberddon said:I am thinking that if you only have 15 treatments you probably won’t need anything more than a moisturiser ( I am a huge fan of moo goo udder cream). I had 25 and it was only right at the end that my skin got unhappy and I am fair and have had many serious sunburns.

- ChezaHMemberHi I went to the radiation oncologist last Wednesday, and I did ask about Mepital and he said that I had good skin and he did not feel I needed to use it. I am having 16 treatments, starting on the 28th September, and all the information I am reading, they all say to use something? Did anybody use nothing and survived the burns ?? I am confused ??
