Loss of hair
I had my first FEC chemo 11 days ago. Just wondering when my hair is likely to fall out?
Will my future chemo treatments make me feel worse each time?

I had FEC by 3, a few months back, and lost my hair about No2. I hung on to every hair, and carefully brushed it each morning. We all go through this in different ways, and all experience different emotions. I feel like a bit of a goose at how strongly I didnt want to lose it now. It was out of my control, and I am doing my best these days to "go with the flow". I adapted fast to no hair, but felt weird in the beginning. I suggest you buy a wig, hats you like, if you do scarfs then do, I did all the above. Some people dont care, and its from those that I drew my strength to cope to a really emotional stage of Chemo for me. Have a look at my blogs, I am a great example of some-one who wasnt real brave with losing my hair, it was my pride and joy! (smile, good luck, most of us have lost it, oh and the hair! ) Love Bel x

- I had FEC starting in January 2012. My air started dropping out at 14-15 days after the first infusion. The follicles got really sensitive and hurt so I made my hubby cut and then shave it all down. I wore a really good wig all the way through (I was still working). My hair started growing back during the Taxol after FEC. It has grown really slowly though. It's still only a couple inches long but I'm a brunette and have been having fun with this short hair - have it bleached totally blonde and spikey. Quite a change for this 47yr old brunette! Jenn

- Hi Susan, my hair fell out just on 2 1/2 weeks after my first lot of AC chemo. It was very upsetting for me, this happened back in January. I'm halfway through Taxol now and I've got a bit of fluff on my head and can't wait for it to start growing. Each treatment seems to be different and your pre-meds will get tweaked by your Oncologist so that hopefully symptoms like nausea won't be as bad. Best of luck, any questions just send me a message.
