The good news eyes right infection on mend and now or chemo etc.Have booked to get my head shaved before I start and have headgear pretty stuff from Chics in Pink at Materin Brisbane. The 6 month plan chemo, hormone, radium.sounds awesome more sickies......after a lifetime. Of very few sickies what a surprise at 68 to enjoy so far I guess might be a bit crook on chemo but am happy to wear the reactions with my dog Karla who has Hip Displasia and also suffers from her treatment at now 15 months. The care and guidance from Mater and Chics in Pink has been so supportive. Now time to haves chat ....sometimes known as Ms Have a Chat......hullo to everybody
  • Hi Gail... welcome to the 'club'.... this is the place you want to be.... feel free to ask any questions and vent when you need to. For me it's been 5 and a half months... with about 6 more weeks to go before the worst of it is over.

Chemo is not too bad... it can be rought but you have to do it to get well. Just take it easy and try not to do too much. Does Karla like to walk? Walking, even a little bit helped me through chemo.. my Border Collie, Charlie loves it... although I never walk far enough for him.

I'm about to start Radium (tomorrow night).. so I'll let you know how it goes. Everyone says it's easier than Chemo so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Rest and take it easy... maybe I'll see you at the Mater when I come up to have my port flushed or to see my oncologist....

I wish you a smooth journey with not too many potholes. I would say you have earnt a few sickies off work so enjoy them while you can.  Best of luck and hope you stay in touch.
