Hi Ladies, I just got back from the hairdressers and I was going to get a pixie cut but I got something a little different but I like it and my hubby and daughter think it's cool I have to get used to it I had really thick dark hair below my shoulders it would have been to hard had I not got it cut, I got a call from my breast nurse late this afternoon and on the 19/8 I have to go for an Information session at the alan walker cancer center chemo nurse and on the 24/8 my first Chemo which will go for 4 and 1/2 hours and post op appt that afternoon also. It's getting a little too real at the moment but I'm going to beat breast cancer it's just a step on my journey. sending cuddles to everyone. Anitaxx

Good on you Anita for going the cut. I didnt and it got quite annoying when the hair fell out. Best wishes Anne

Hi Anne, My breast nurse advised me to do it she said that it can be very traumatizing and the less traumatized you are the better it will be for me and it was hard having my thick hair cut short but I like it and so does my hubby he thinks I look 10 years younger which means he thinks I look 36 and our daughter just thinks I'm a cool mum she's 9 and 1/2. talk to you again soon sending a cyber hug your way. Hi Anita, I used to have thick, wavy brunette hair past my shoulders too. I know how it feels to have such a radical change. So glad that your husband and daughter are included in your changes along the way. My daughter is 26, so I gave her all the info that I've been reading, and she has also embraced the changes along the way. I know that your daughter is a lot younger, but she'll understand more than you think. Sounds like you have an awesome hubby like mine, it does make a big difference to have that support. Hi Anita, that's the spirit your going to beat it that's what I like to hear chemo is not too pleasant but you will be given lots of help re anti nausea medication I was given anti histamine called phenergan and slept through my 3rd and 4th chemo infusion wish I had known the first 2 ha ha so ask for that let us know how you go you will be OK with that attitude xxxx

Hi Trace, I would love to keep in touch along my journey but what's a connect request and how do you do it? Do you still start Radiotherapy this week? I've been a little anxious last night and now I can't sleep but I'll try as I know I need my rest because I have a very busy week my cousin sent me an email yesterday and is planning to come up from Sydney for the weekend I really hope it eventuates as we haven't seen each other since 2007 and she's like a sister to me she has 3 kids 2 boys and a girl and Angelena hasn't met her cousins so one of my plans after my treatment is to take her to Sydney and my home town of Melbourne we lived in Canberra for 10 years before moving to Darwin, I'm still planning on going to the BCNA forum in Darwin on the 25th even though chemo starts on the 24th as my hubby and I have been looking forward to it having chemo doesn't mean my life should stop. My daughter in a way knows somethings happening as she's an only child and is allways around adults I think she's a bit more mature than your average 9 year old she's so smart but I suppose I'm a little biased my hubby has been so supportive even though I know he's starting to find it a little hard he's from sri lanka but has lived the last 20 years in Australia and I'm aussie we are like each others right arm in fact the day I start chemo is the day we met 19years ago so I suppose you could say we are starting another journey on our special day my breast nurse thinks we should go out on the weekend and have an have our anniversary early and do something special, I think I might take her advice what do you think,sending you a big cuddle Anitaxx
