It's Chemo Time

Well my journey is starting today attending my first chemo... Doing AC once every fortnight. The good news is (if there is ever good news with BC and chemo) is that they are trying out the "cold cap" on me for the very first time.  I know that only 2 hospitals have them in Sydney and our area is the 1st to try, so lets hope it works and I don't loose my hair.  Very excited and hope it works as they will be looking into bringing this treatment to our area for all the other women.

Wish me luck and staying positive....

  • Hi Chissk

I had the cool cap and it was amazing.  A little uncomfortable for first 10 or so mun. But youll soon get used to ir. Ive a lot of hair and I did lose a lot around where the cap didnt touch but apart from that no one new I was having Chemo. Worked a treat. My hair has all grown back underneath like a bush. 3 months on . Good luck with  treatment .  Sprits high and positive pink sister

     Cheers

  • Hi,

I started chemo yesterday and can honestly say I feel okay today touch wood, I have been just following all the advice I was given and the extra tips I see here and like you will keep positive.

I had my hair cut short for the first time before the treatment as I knew it would be an issue for me.

good luck, let us all know how you go with the cold cap.

    sending positive vibes your way.
