Is anyone online ? Urgent question

Today is day 18 of my last chemo cycle and I have a fever of 38.6 after taking panadol over an hour ago.  I was in hospital on Tuesday for heart issues AGAIN and my neutrophils were fine. I also take neulasta so I know I won't be neutropenic. Just wondering whether I should bother going to emergency yet AGAIN. I so hate that place and as my port is blocked AGAIN they'll have to go hunting for a vein AGAIN. Anyone had any advice from their doctor/chemo nurse as to how long after chemo we have to stop worrying about fevers and turning up at emergency?

Thnx

Nadine

  • Hi Nadi - just jumping in also, sometimes it can be best just to be sure, as you said, and seek medical advice at the ER if you are concerned. I hope you start to feel a little better after your visit -  jess x

  • Good call Nadine... As much as it sucks , it's best to be sure... Hope all is ok

  • Hi Nadine, I think that's definitely the best idea, much as it sucks. Hope your temperature comes down soon and you can get back home as soon as possible. Hugs, Jane xx

  • Nevermind.  I am going to ER just to make sure.
