Hair regrowth

Just make sure it's one you want when you're 95 and it's showing through the white hair!!  The reason I never had a tattoo was that I could never be sure I'd always want it and where.

@Sister I think I'll have to  :# I'll try to rock a Sinead. The random spiky hairs that have hung on unreasonably annoy. Despite being dark. I suppose I could hope for salt and pepper? But combined with the AI it's all going to age me very quickly. Sigh.

I've read this thread through and quite a few women have talked about regrowth during Taxol. I'll be interested to hear how you go.

You may have to keep the shaver going for a little while, @kmakm. I was looking at mine last night - the onc thought after ditching the cold caps that mine would all be gone by Day 10 (3rd treatment).  I had a Number 2 and it seemed that not much happened for weeks except for a slow spreading of the bald patch across the top.  In the last few days, it's turned wispy all over but funnily enough, it's mostly the dark hairs that are still there - not much of the grey.  I'm wondering what it's going to do through the Paclitaxol course.

I'm 5 weeks after my last TC chemo infusion. I had the cold cap for the first two but then gave up because I had a mile wide landing strip on top, and bare patches underneath. Where the cold cap worked best was at the front and back.

Last week there was nothing, but now the front, where my fringe was, is like a Brillo pad, and it looks like it's coming through dark, as it does at the back. Apart from a few scattered bristles, most everywhere else is covered in tiny white soft hairs. And then there's just areas where nothing is happening at all...

I was a rich thick dark brown before, and at 51 had hardly any grey hair (part of the genetic lottery I won!). I haven't minded being bald at all. In fact most people in my life loved the look. But I do not think I'm going to enjoy this next phase at all. I reckon I'm going to look a moth eaten mess...

Hi @Jen79x ohhh the fuzz is exciting!!! I actually liked it LOL unfortunately nothing helps it grow faster though and I had long blonde hair...heres my pics in a collage from beginning to end of chemo and beyond.


And this is now at just over 2.5yrs post chemo...



It will take many years to get it back to where you had it, but I couldnt be happier with how mine has grown, yes feels slow but I get it trimmed now and then too.

Kerastase also has little ampules and a shampoo and spray to stimulate hair regrowth.  The ampules are expensive.  There is also the old Rogane from the chemist. I'm trying that. My hair started growing on FEC and then with the halfway change to a different chemo it started falling out again. Now it is about a cm or two and gray/little bit of dark ... was dark brown. A bit like a fuzzy duckling. The male pattern of baldness is slowly growing and eyebrows have started coming back. Not sure about lashes! I think I will just play with the gray/white and use some semi perm. pastel shades for fun.  Sometimes I swear I can feel a pony tail! My hair was past my shouders when I shaved it.

@Jen79x, you must be so happy only having 2 more chemo sessions to go!! My hair has started growing back also, just last week I noticed white and brown fuzz coming through. I am 4/12 weekly treatments and super excited my hair is starting to come back.  I thought about having extensions also. My friend who is a hairdresser has recommended Nioxon 2 shampoo/conditioner to stimulate hair growth. I am going to give this a try, chemist warehouse stocks it.

When mine came back it had the gray look with not much colour. It came back wiry and curly as. I kept that short until the wire subsided and now my colour is back and after 2 years it is long and thick an only a bit wavy. I am loathe to go and get a hair cut again.

I'm 4 weeks post my last chemo and i have a number one buzz cut look, white as a ghost color. I'm so excited it is starting to grow back. Being bald has not been nice at all.
