I had FEC followed by Taxotere and in order to feel I had some control over everything I had my head shaved before I started chemo.
I never had the itchy scalp as my hair fell out and it didn't grow back curly as is often reported.
This also allowed me to select a wig while I was still feeling well, although I discovered that I had a very well shaped head and like Samantha often just wore my bald head. Hated hats and other "disguising" headgear.
I also had radiation to the affected breast and chest wall. My hair was starting to grow back then and has continued growing - I had chemo first, then mastectomy and finally radiation. Unless you are having whole brain radiation to your head, this should not affect your hair regrowth.
