Hair Growing Back
Hi All,
I am on my last paclitaxel chemo next week and staring to look beyond the chemo bad ass.
I am just completing 8 courses of dose dense chemo - 4 xAC, 4x Paclitaxel and am wondering how long it took for others to grow their hair back. I know this is assuming it has grown back sufficiently, as some women are unlucky with hair regrowth.
Just hoping you can share you experiences of when your hair grew back enough to actually feel like you had enough to do something with and any changes in your hair regrowth from before chemo.
Many thanks,
Jo

@JJ70 My lady garden is an utter schmozzle! Imagine four horizontal layers. Bottom layer, still bare scorched earth. Next layer up, a thin strip of sparse vegetation as rendered by the Agent Orange of chemo. The next two layers were shaved before my BMX & recon (while I was under anaesthetic. They didn't warn me, I wish they had). So the next layer has regrowth at the very outer sides but a huge bare tract in between. And the final top layer has blunt regrowth all the way along.
What. The. Actual. F**k is all THAT about?!
Who knows how it will all shake out. I suspect I shall have to do some permanent hair removal now that the geography of my lower abdomen has been rearranged. Don't want pubes growing out of my belly...

- JJ70MemberI'm patchy too...although the patches are closing in. Patchy down below too...that looks rather funny!
- kmakmMemberI have the same question as @JJ70. What happens to the baby fluff? How soon after does your regular hair take over? I'm patchy so am thinking about buzzing it short until I'm happy with what's coming through.
- kmakmMember@Sister Excellent to hear!
- kmakmMember@JJ70 Oh FFS! Why do people think it's OK to make comments like that?? I suppose if he's really old you could put it down to that removal of social inhibition that advanced age can sometimes bring, but really...
- SisterMemberKids are cool with it @kmakm!

- JJ70MemberAn old guy at the shops yesterday said
"What are you playing at?" Then gesticulated about my headscarf.
"It's a headscarf to cover my bald head." I reply
"The circus is in town!" He laughed loudly as he walked away.
WTF?? :'( - JJ70MemberSo, should I shave the baby hair fuzz...or does that fall out and proper hair starts to grow? Any tips?
