Hair Growing Back
Hi All,
I am on my last paclitaxel chemo next week and staring to look beyond the chemo bad ass.
I am just completing 8 courses of dose dense chemo - 4 xAC, 4x Paclitaxel and am wondering how long it took for others to grow their hair back. I know this is assuming it has grown back sufficiently, as some women are unlucky with hair regrowth.
Just hoping you can share you experiences of when your hair grew back enough to actually feel like you had enough to do something with and any changes in your hair regrowth from before chemo.
Many thanks,
Jo

- JJ70MemberGrown enough for a bit of a comb over now!
- SisterMemberLove it!
- kmakmMember@JJ70 Fantastic! Love the angle of the pencils and the colours. Love it.
- AllyJayMember@JJ70...great cover...good fortune with the book. You may use any of the many and varied sayings I unfortunately trot out on this site...we all share so much, what's a word here or there?
- Kiwi_AngelMember@JJ70 love it!!!!!
- JJ70MemberHow's the draft of our book cover? Al and I taught in the same classroom, diagnosed with BC within 13 months of each other so, we thought - there is definitely a book in that! It will be a warts and all walk through this 'Shitfest Spectacular' with photos and everything!! Would love feedback on the cover. x
- JJ70Member@AllyJay LOL - love your description sing carpet and curtains analogy. Also love the term 'Shitfest Spectacular' it sums it up so, well, spectacularly!! May I thieve that and possibly use it in my book? I would of course acknowledge AllyJay from BCNA online forum if you so wish. One of my book sections will be 'SUPPORT' and this BCNA online resource will feature in length!
I ended up waxing the sides of my face, it made me so depressed to feel like a primate. I'm glad I did it. - Kiwi_AngelMember@JJ70 it was so nice to be able to get into a pair of heel again - my 2 small goals after chemo were to wear heels and do for a run again - at least one is done and I feel like I might be able to try the other one again soon. My head hair is growing back quite well also - might treat myself to a haircut soon!!
- kmakmMember@AllyJay Extraordinary! I have a lot of light fur on my face. @SoldierCrab says to be patient, it will settle down. Hope so!
- AllyJayMember@kmakm...maybe instead of a "landing strip" you now have a reverse "bull's eye"!! This hair thing truly is bizarre. Before the Shitfest Spectacular, my head hair was brown with silver...about a 70 / 30 split. My lady garden was the reverse...the carpet was much greyer than the curtains. After regrowth, I now have the head of an eighty year old...90% silver grey with a few brown hairs here and there and Downunder...the colour, and only the colour, mind you, of me in my early thirties. My arms looked like those of a Yeti and the sides of my face looked like a premature newborn covered in dark lanugo. The excess arm and face fluff have now gone, but the other remains the same. Ho hum...
