Hair Growing Back
Hi All,
I am on my last paclitaxel chemo next week and staring to look beyond the chemo bad ass.
I am just completing 8 courses of dose dense chemo - 4 xAC, 4x Paclitaxel and am wondering how long it took for others to grow their hair back. I know this is assuming it has grown back sufficiently, as some women are unlucky with hair regrowth.
Just hoping you can share you experiences of when your hair grew back enough to actually feel like you had enough to do something with and any changes in your hair regrowth from before chemo.
Many thanks,
Jo

- SoldierCrabMembermine grew back on Taxol Sister
- kmakmMember@Sister What a delightful neighbour to have! Glad to hear you're rocking your look. Your kids have got used to it?
- SisterMemberMine's finally just about gone - still a little bit of fine fuzz. I wonder if it's going to grow back or fall out again on the taxol. I think I'm finally edgy and cool, too @kmakm - then I look in the mirror and realise at 54 I've left it 20 years too late. I used to be a bit alternative but now I'm just sadly middle-aged. Have to survive this bc thing so that I can stand out as an oldie. I am rocking the caps and scarves though! My lovely neighbour gave me a new cap - a stripey, tubular thing that she said she got in Kathmandhu. Now, if anyone else said that, I'd think they meant the shop but because she spends half her life in places like Nepal, India and various 'stans, I thought she meant the place. Did some googling to see how to wear it and realised that she really did mean the shop! It's still nice and "out there".
- kmakmMember@jennyss I'm about to do the same! It's growing very slowly where the cold cap fit most snugly. Which is at the front, parts of the sides and sections low down at the back. I don't mind though, at 51 I'm finally all edgy and cool! ;)
- jennyssMemberDear @kmakm and @JJ70, Yes, shame about those witchypoo hairs growing back! And as for the scabby cradle cap; mine lasted about 4 weeks. Before my BC bout my partner would trim my long hair about every 3 months. Now I'm going to his lovely barber and having a No.6 hair clipper cut every few weeks. It is only $14. I have a mohawk strip down the middle growing twice as fast as the rest of my hair.
- kmakmMember@Joannie I know right?! It's hard to tell which!
