GETTING STARTED

Hi Ladies,

Had my visit to the oncologist today, have to start Chemo on Wednesday 25/08/15, so overwhelmed, anxious, scared of what to expect, I know this is the next step in my journey to wellness but doesn't make it any easier, I find it  so hard to make decisions, I worry that I will make the wrong one, but as my family say there is really only one wrong decision.  Any hints on what I need to take with me etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Take care

Robyn xx

Hi Robyn, take something light like a magazine to read. I used to take my ipad with me too. There will be too many distractions for you to concentrate on anything too much. Make sure you take a support person with you, just yo have someone there. All the very best wishes for your chemo, Trace ??????

  • Hi Robyn. As  Rowdy said, take someone with you. I usually take my IPad, sometimes check emails, but mostly just play solitaire & chat to whoever is with me. I also have found that with nurses coming and going over the 3-3.5hours I've been there, I haven't really had a lot of time to do much anyway. Have you thought about getting one of those adult colouring in books? They would be something easy to stop & start if need be! But also distract you a bit from what is going on.

Hope it all goes ok. Will be thinking of you

  • Hi Robyn take someone with you if you can, it can be a long day A book, computer any thing that ou think you can concentrate on. I found I couldn't concentrate on much and generally chatted with others or rested.. I was reading this just now and relised that this time last year I was in surgery having my mastectomy and reconstruction. It is a long trip and you will get there good luck with chemo and I hope you don't have to many side effects. Take carex
