Feeling nervous

Hello again, I start my chemo tomorrow, I'm having 4TC, has anyone had this? I'm fortunate that the tumor was small 6mm with no spread to lymph nodes (or anywhere else in the body). The re excision of the margin didn't come back clear so I will be having a mastectomy following treatment. Id love to hear from you. Xx Jo

  • Hi Jo

I hope it went well with your first chemo.  I am also TNBC, and will start 4TC on the 9th of October.  I am so sorry to hear that your reexcision was not clear, and that you will be having a mastectomy.  I also had a reexcision, but am very thankful that my margins came back clear the second time.  My tumors was 4 mm and 6 mm with a very large DCIS, and thankfully there was a clear lymph node.  I will also have to go for radiation after the chemo, and I am still feeling a bit overwhelmed after being diagnosed with BC.  I hope that you don't have a lot of side effects, hang in there and let us know how it goes.  Will be following your journey as you are just ahead of me.  Best of wishes. • Hi Jo, I had my second round of TC last week and I'm starting to feel normal again, except for tiredness. You will have had your first round by now, I hope it went well, if it did and your anything like me you will still be feeling OK. One thing I would recommend is keeping a bag packed in case you get a fever and need to go to hospital. TC can knock your immunity around, and you never know when you might get a fever. I ended up in hospital for about 5 days on IV antibiotics. Nothing you would be concerned about normally but they have to be especially careful during the first cycle until you can get the boost from Neulasta. Be sure to ask the nurses etc about your side effects to keep them under control. I went for stonger pain control this cycle, and that worked well for me. I hope things are going well for you, Simone
