Feeling cold all the time

Anyone else feeling cold all the time after treatment?
Had surgery and radiotherapy  last year & started Letrozole in June. Had a few side effects from the Letrozole - occasional hot flush, big weight gain, occasional trouble sleeping (but that could be because my brain comes up with plot ideas as I'm an author...lol), diarrhea. Continual fatigue since radiotherapy.
Anyway now it's autumn and although the temps are around 20 I'm feeling cold all the time. Rugged up, sit wrapped in a blanket, etc. I simply cannot get warm.
Never used to feel this cold until the temps were in the low single digits...lol
  • @SuzyS  Hello yes I also now feel the cold after treatment.   I find my head gets very cold.  I wear a beanie at home and in the middle of winter I have been known to wear a beanie in bed.  Not attractive but I dont care as warmth is the goal here!

At night I have a blankey on my knees.   I do wear layers because at any given moment I can get hot and start removing the layers.  Oh the joy.
  • DUH!   I've got an electric snuggle blanket somewhere too - I've just gotta remember where I put it after the end of last winter!  LOL. You've just reminded me! Then I don't need to use the heater!   LOL.
    take care

  • @arple Yep, electric blanket's been on every night for the past month - madness...lol. Got a nice snuggly blanket I wrap myself in while I sit and knit in the afternoon/evening.
"Getting older' is a pain but to go from bare feet, t-shirts most of the winter to 12 months later being so cold even in the mid to high 20s is nuts.

  • That's a bummer, @SuzyS ....  I am so sorry you've had all the nasty side effects.  :(   My sleep has been totally stuffed since the start of this whole thing, so I feel for you there xx  I had a bit of fatigue, but not ongoing.

I've been feeling a tad cold just now too - but our weather has been SO changeable just now!  4 weeks ago, I had the fan on in the bedroom at night, then the following week, the electric blanket!!  As I sit here typing, I have a polar fleece jacket on .... and have had the electric blanket on for the last week.  I even had the heater on in the lounge last night!  (Yeah, I'm a sook!) Maybe Just work on wearing layers, that you can add to or remove at will ....

I wonder if 'getting older' makes us more susceptible to 'the cold'? ...

    take care x
