Comfort food through chemo?

Hi everyone,

Just want idea's for easy foods that helped you through chemo.

I know that we don't feel like eatting and have to force ourselves. I'm finding that really hard and feel like that's all I'm doing is forcing myself.

So any recipes or idea's will be great. Soups, pasta's.....anything! I've been living on Pasta and although I love Pasta I'm getting a little sick of it.

  • I can relate to Mgndam 1603 in that nothing tempted me until after day 10.  I used to cook all the things that appealed to me and put them in the freezer in readiness for the next round.  I am also gluten intolerant so nothing was easy to just go out and buy takeaway if I got a craving.  There is a big blog on this site titled "what helped me through chemo" which may have some recipes for you.   Good luck with your chemo XLeonie

  • From day 3 to 10 I had trouble eating but I juiced too, also soup as it was easy to manage and added to my fluid intake I also had avacado and tomato on toast.

My husband cooked all sorts of meals trying to tempt me, I just couldn't manage to eat much. After day 10 I was ok to eat anything.

  • Hi Nessk,

I am Juicing my way thru..... I have been having apple carrot and ginger it helps me with appetite. still  not great but my chemo nurse said eat what you feel like..... that is as healthy as possible.

I spent a week eating avocados like apples then went thru the pear stage  this week I have been craving broccoli, and carrots I just eat what works for me.
