cold cap issues

Hi All

Had my first round of AC today. Tried the cold cap but found it to be unbearable.... had it on for 10-15 min first time then had to take off...splitting headache, gagged from strap, and felt queasy from heat blanket (surgical one not a electric blanket).... had a break and then tried again after taking a relaxant....still no luck.....

So I will be losing my hair, my gorgeous hairdresser then cut it off short for me so I won't have so much to deal with...and my 3 yr old says I have doll hair now ??. Hospital great, gave me hats and caps plus a massage! 

Anyway part vent as I am disappointed but also curious to know if anyone else couldn't tolerate it. I kept on past my threshold and went into mini panic attack.......

    Hey Emma.

    What a bummer it didnt work for you. I was able to tolerate it. It is uncomfortable though especially that initial freezing head rush you get. I had extra strapping around my chin as well as the cap used to ride up. I found it weird to eat and drink as a result. I was completely over it by chemo number 6  I lost my hair on top of my head because of fitting issues with the cold cap and loved wearing hats to hide my friar tuck look. 

    Hope the rest of your chemo goes well.
