Chemo Day 1
Hi everyone.
I thought i would give you a heads up about my chemo today. Firstly i did kick its butt after the 1st hour. The 1st hour was the hardest as i chose the cold cap. I had snug warm blankets but oh my head killed. Had Panadol and then had some drug adavan oj I cannot remember. Once i had that i was fine. Went to the toilet alot with all the fluids. At home im ok. Headache and a bit nauseas.
Love to you all xx

- Trikki2MemberOk well i was allowed 1 panadeine forte and yay the edge has been taken off. Thanks hun xx
TRIKKI2 - lrb_03MemberThe other issue with panadeine and pd is that both contain paracetamol, and you should have no more than 4g of that in 24hrs
- Trikki2Member@Zoffiel thanks heaps. Just getting advice now

Trik, you will have to take them as prescribed. If you have only taken the codeine, read the bottle and take them accordingly. If you have taken PD forte(which also contains codeine) as well you will have take that into consideration. This is not medical advice, but a quick google suggests that 15- 60 mg codeine every four hours not exceeding 360 mg per day is OK, short term under normal circumstances if you have no underlying conditions. Chemo can muck all that up, which is why you need to get some dedicated advice. Do you have an after hours number you can call to check if you are not sure? If you are taking them as directed you should continue to do so if they are helping.
Sorry to be a bit pedantic about this. Mxx
- Kiwi_AngelMember@Trikki2 you should be ok to take some panadine forte - I found that and endone (not all at the same time) worked well for my bone pain. I suffered a lot with that from the chemo and the Neulasta injection. Like @Eastmum I couldn't drink water during chemo where normally I drink gallons - tasted horrible - I craved sweet, bubbly soft drink for about 3 days. Zoffran is the best thing for the nausea too. Hope you feel better soon xoxox
- Trikki2MemberOk so i only 2 codeine this morning at about 1040. Do you think i will be ok??
TRIKKI2 - ZoffielMemberBe careful about following the codeine up with the PD Forte, you may end up with a bit more codeine on board than you expected. If you are taking both, have a chat to your pharmacist or GP to figure out what the optimal dose is. Chemo is a shit of a thing, I think that sometimes juggling available meds just keeps up occupied until the poison wears off. Mxx
- Trikki2MemberHey @lrb_03
Oh crap not what i wanted to hear. Yes happy for you to pm me more info. Xxxx
TRIKKI2 - lrb_03MemberHi @Trikki2. I also had FEC-D. After each dose of FEC (within 2-3 hours of finishing) I developed a migraine. The first one wiped me out for 36+hours. My GP prescribed a migraine medication that I took at the first hint of it stsrting again, and the next couple of doses weren't as bad, as I was able to manage that side effect. Let me know if you'd like more information, and I'll pm you
Take care - Trikki2MemberThanks everyone
I am taking zofron wafer and trying codeine and may try panaddins forte if that doesn't work. This is so shit. Love to you all xxx
