Branded for life

Gday girls, Ive hada break from this site, being busy with appointments. Delighted to FINALLY learn that my treatment doesnt involve chemo. No consolation though. Monday I have 1st radiation session where Im told they mark you & then tattoo. Im not happy. I suppose I have no right to complain seeing other womens problems are far worse than mine & they have to do chemo & lose their hair, but I dont want to be branded like an animal. I loathe tattoos!

For a lowsy 6 weeks of treatment, Im branded for life? Does everyone be like sheep & get tattooed to make radiation easier for the staff? I havent been there yet to understand how difficult the radiation staff's job is if you are not tattooed. Surley there's some alternative like using a waterproof permanent marker.

There must be something wrong with me coz I really do have a problem with being branded for life.

  • I have been using qv lotion. It has been fine. I have been using it 2-3 times a day and also using their gentle wash in the shower. Am quite red but no blisters. More like a terrible sunburn and only now getting sore and tender. I also had a mastectomy and chemo and radiation is a breeze compared to the chemo. Still, have to do what we have to. Xx
  • Only tiny grey dots hey. Im imagining larger & darker than that.

Only 3 more zaps to go for you! It must surely be good to know its nearly over.

Hope you found good cream to use & healing well. My Mum is suggesting I use almond oil.

  • Hi jozzy. Don't worry about the tattoos. I can hardly see mine.. They are tiny and just look like little grey dots. I have only 3 zaps left so am looking forward to finishing. Good luck with your treatment. Xx
