I was considering doing this too. My left breast is a little larger than my right breast as a result of the surgery. I was tossing up for ages while I waited for my next appointment in the public system. In the end I decided against it for three reasons.
1. The difference is only small and I don't think it's that obvious to others unless I wear tight, light coloured clothes (which I avoid).
2. I already have a couple of small scars on my right side. I didn't really want more scaring on my left breast as well.
3. On my initial consultation with the plastic surgeon he said there was a chance I could lose all sensation in my nipple or that my nipple could completely die as a result of the surgery. Eek! His plan was to reduce and uplift at the same time by cutting around and repositioning the nipple after removing some tissue.
I guess in the end I didn't think it was worth it. I was scared that I might be swapping one minor problem - slight size difference - for another worse problem - scaring & loss of nipple sensation. But I suppose if the size difference had been larger I probably would have gone ahead with the operation and taken that chance.
I certainly understand your concern about it and I believe the chance of the nipple dying is pretty small so I hope I haven't put you off if that's what you want to do. Good luck. I hope you get the results you're after. Janet.
