Phew Jodie !
I'm so pleased for you. If you want to speak to me after your op I will be at Pindara Private on the Gold Coast. I'll give you my details or you can give me yours and we can tie up a few hospital phone lines if you feel up to it.
I can whinge for as long as you can I'm sure. I did the tears last night for several hours and I've had a few moments where I've cried tears of frustration at people who don't understand.
Let me know, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and holding your hand in spirit. We can do this and what's more we will do it with style and panache

Great to hear you got the all clear. I had to wait 4 days for my results from the scans. That was difficult as it went over the Mother's Day weekend. Glad you got your results so quickly!
Will be thinking of you and Cas tomorrow. Good luck to both of you. Deanne xx0 -

Try and think that the cancer will be gone when you wake! That's how I thought of it and it helped me to keep calm. xx0

I'm having an axilliry clearance.
Is that more painful than the actual mastectomy?0 -
Hi Jodie,
I found the masectomy not too bad at all. Healed quickly. Now, the node clearance was for me a littlle different. I had 20 lymphs taken, 3 of them affected. It wasn;t more painful, more like a tightness, which I have to this day. I am aways aware that I have to be more careful with the arm. I also have some numbess running down the back of the arm. Linda xx

I don't know It will depend on many things. What they find, how much they have to dig around, how well my stitches heal, whether there is any infection or if I have to have drains for fluid. I've been told anywhere up to 3 nights but I don't particularly like hospitals so the stay will be until they get tired of me asking if I can go home yet You know in the "are we there yet?" kind of tone .....ha!
I'm Carolyn Seymour-Allan if you want to phone. Which hospital are you going to be at?
Cas (you can see why I am known as Cas Allan, the full name is a mouthfull)0 -
Thanks Deanne,
I haven't had an operation for 18 years now and the last one was on an eye that turned down, thyroid eye disease, It is straight now, I'm more nervous about the injections into my breast tomorrow morning, I know it will take seconds but I don't like needles much. After that I don't care what they do really, I'll be asleep. Well I do and it is false bravado but it is keeping me somewhat sane.
Jodie, we will be fine and we will chat and compare notes on the flipside Remember I'm holding your hand in spirit, you can squeeze all you want.
