Travel Insurance
Hi All, I am clear of symptoms now and about to do a bit of travel and am looking for insurance. I'm worried about the pre-existing conditions clauses ... because I've always got tests to do and am worried in case I insure and then get tests that show my cancer has returned. Does anyone have experience with travel insurance companies that are OK on this sort of situation?141Views0likes5CommentsMulti-trip travel insurance
Hi, Last year I arranged a multi-trip annual travel insurance policy with All Clear. However this year one of my trips exceeds the 42 day limit for single trips. I wondered if anyone else had found an insurer who would offer annual insurance without a duration of trip limitation? Any suggestions gratefully received! Hello all , I went through a lumpectomy 10mths ago followed by Radiation treatment (stage1). Wanting to fly to the states next year but don’t know weather do declare to the travel insurance companies anything ? One quote jumped to $1500 for my family. It’s not if I get sick over there it’s incase of a reoccurrence & I need to cancel before we go. Has anyone traveled after ?? Who did you use ??302Views0likes11CommentsTravel insurance
just wanted to share Tick insurance now has a medical screen and I got insurance for two trips next year at very good rates and covered for breast cancer at no extra charge. I got a quote yesterday at escape for 4 to 4 times the prices. I haven’t had to make a claim before but the PDF looks very comprehensive.231Views0likes6CommentsPrevention of side effects rads
1.Does anyone have experience with use of Mepilex to protect the skin during radiotherapy? what should I do to prepare my skin and incisions in advance? It will be 8 weeks since lumpectomy and 5.5 weeks post sentinel lymph node biopsy when I start 15 treatments over 3 weeks. 2. Have long awaited overseas holiday planned but have to change departure date. How long should I wait after radiotherapy?101Views0likes6CommentsTravel insurances
I have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in the bone. Lesions in hips & neck of femur. Other lesions in the thorax but not necessarily breast cancer. My Oncologist has advised that it’s ok for me to travel nationally and internationally. Can anyone advise which Travel Inurance company has the most understanding method of assessing loading rates and exclusions.372Views0likes13CommentsTravel insurance

Hi Ladies I just thought I would share some information I found out this week. My husband and I booked flights to go to see some friends in Canberra at the end of the month. Well the other day I had a mini panic attack. I have an appointment booked with my Specialist on the 28th March and have to have a Ultra Sound the week before. This is my year Anniversary check up. And I had this thought what if the Ultra Sound finds something and he wants me to have tests and they can't wait a week.. I know ladies not a very positive thought. But it only lasted a few minutes. So I made enquiries about Travel Insurance. And found out that CGU do a Cancellation Policy. I obviously didn't need all the other stuff I just need it to cover the air fares. I worked for a bank and we used to deal with CGU and I had extensive training on all aspects of Insurance so as to help our customers. (Well sell it to them really lol ) but I didn't know about Just a Cancellation Policy. Later in the year we are going to Brisbane to see Celine Dion (tick that off my bucket list) and I shall be getting the Insurance again. Hope this might help anyone else who is travelling interstate and was concerned about having to cancel. Best regards to you all. Jan. xxx31Views1like0CommentsOverseas Travel and Travel Insurance
Hi All, After a terrible 2107 having chemo and radiotherapy I am thankful I am now well, back to work and generally feeling back to "normal". One of my colleagues suggested a trip to Canada in Aug/sept this year and I would love to go. However, it will be a expensive trip and it seems travel insurance will not cover anything to do with pre existing diagnosis of cancer. My one concern is recurrence which could happen anytime after paying for the trip. Anybody, have any suggestions. I am a stickler for insurance and would not like to chance a trip without it. Any thoughts or past experiences of travel.141Views0likes3Comments
