New metastatic diagnosis
I’m new to this group. I’m 43 years old and today I was told I have ER, PR negative, HER2 positive metastatic breast cancer. I have mets in lymph nodes, bones and liver. No symptoms- only had a mammogram as my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago. I’m married with an 8 year old son and 11 year old daughter. It goes without saying that I’m absolutely devastated. Not only for myself but more so for everyone else this will affect. I’m starting docetaxel, trastuzumab and pertuzumab on Tuesday. Can anyone provide me with any information on how long this treatment has controlled their cancer for? Thank you.1.2KViews0likes21CommentsNewly diagnosed - Just need some positivity and hope
Hi Everyone. This is my first post. I am trying to navigate this network, because I know I need help. I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer only 5 days ago. I have many tests coming up, and treatment options. But for now, I can't seem to find the strength. I just need to hear some positive stories, some good stories, some hopeful stories, so that I can muster enough determination to stop crying for one thing, and to get my anxiety level down. I have an amazing family, and they also need some hope. I am 56, and was originally diagnosed 13 years ago with early breast cancer, and was told "you are cured"???? I am sorry to sound so desperate, but I'm still in that place where my world feels like it's ending. Thank you for reading, and I send hugs to everyone.Recent MBC - sternum
I was diagnosed with MBC on 5 November, (first diagnosed with BC in August 2016). I have been told that it's detained in the sternum and no other areas of the body and it is thought that it was there when the breast tumour was removed in Sept 16. The suggestion is that I stay on Tamoxifen or as I am premenopausal that I have my ovaries removed and I would then have access to either Palbociclib or Ribociclib. I could have a monthly ovarian suppression injection rather than have them removed. I am currently looking into the options presented and will see the medical oncologist in two weeks time. I am just wondering if there are any others here on this network that have experienced the same thing?Guided Meditation for chemotherapy
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed a month ago, had a lumpectomy and am about to have my 3rd round of chemo. I found this guided meditation on You Tube specifically for chemo. It's been wonderful and I do it morning and night. It's helped me cope with anxiety and worry and taught me how to change my thinking so that I view chemo as a positive experience.
