CBD oil for chemo symptom management (High Grade Triple Neg BC)
Hello, I am researching and considering CBD oil use for chemo symptom management. i have recently been diagnosed and have experienced several side effects. I prefer not to load my body with additional medicine to counter balance the chemo. I am certainly not well versed but what I understand is that the supply and demand are there, it is costly (in fact varies in price), many variables, uncertainty around content you’re actually getting (when it is not regulated) and clarity around how many cbd mgms in the bottle? Breakdown - cbd or Cbda also? I will raise this topic my oncologist tomorrow. Any insight, knowledge, experience. would be greatly valued and appreciated as I plan to have this convo as best informed as I can be 🙂131Views0likes7CommentsGood report for Year 2 review
I saw my surgeon yesterday and he is very happy with how I am going ... so much so that next year will be my last appointment with him unless I get concerned about anything! I am Very happy with that! He was particularly happy with the feel of my breast tissue following the 4 weeks of radiation .... saying it was almost the same as the non treated breast, with no real detectable ‘hard bits’. I mentioned that I was on ‘the good oils’ and he was interested enough to ask where I got it! Hopefully, like Canberra, where residents can now grow 2 plants for Personal use .... hopefully it will be legalised, Australia wide, sooner than later. Last night on channel 9 news in QLD ... A Legal medical marijuana clinic called Plant Med will open in Brisbane. Very expensive though, they quoted $100 to $250 a week. Take care and all the best for your ongoing treatments xx241Views3likes14CommentsCannibis Trials
Today I watched a webinar which will be reproduced on Counterparts website in a couple weeks. Firstly, the drug bus can detect legal medicinal cannibis and a medical certificate will not get you out of trouble. You cannot drive legally within five days of having the legal stuff. Pffft. Three trials are coming up within the next six months. Two in NSW where they will be testing the chemo nausea aspect in one. I cannot remember what the second one is for. One trial in Vic where they will be testing metastatic cancer or advance cancer and how cannibis affects quality of life in these situations. The oil used will be a CBD/THC combination spray.51Views2likes0CommentsCannabis therapy : have you tried it? how do you access it? how effective is the treatment for you?
I would like to get an idea of how widespread cannabis therapy use is amongst people living with breast cancer. If there is enough interest, might we consider joining the broader discussion about medical cannabis access and legality. It’s all well and good that legislation has been passed regarding access to medical cannabis but the reality is, few are able to access the scheme. My Oncologist and GP are both supportive of my cannabis use but told me it is difficult to access unless all other treatment options have been exhausted. I started using medical cannabis about four months ago. I was motivated to explore the treatment after talking with another cancer patient who was having outstanding relief from cannabis oil. I hit doc Google hard for a number of months, reading and researching all I could about medical grade cannabis. I learned about the different strains of cannabis, about CBD, THC & CBN and the many different cannabis and hemp products now available I also learned that there are people selling ‘medical cannabis’ that has no active ingredients. So, a reliable supplier is very important. I eventually discussed my thoughts about trying medical cannabis with my oncologist. He was supportive of my using it for pain management and asked where I planned to get it. The place I mentioned has been in the business for a long time and has a good reputation for supplying quality products. A lot of cancer patients in the region go there. I take cbd paste for pain management and cannabis oil in the hope that it will kill off the Mets in my bones (oncologist not as optimistic as me re the oil). I have had outstanding results in terms of pain management. I was taking Palexia SR150 mg twice a day and Panadol osteo three times a day. For those unfamiliar with Palexia, it is a strong opioid used for managing pain - it effectively numbs pain and your brain. I now only take cannabis extract to manage my pain and I feel so much better. My bloods are normal and the disease is stable; I have Mets in my bones but all my organs are now clear :) FYI - I am also taking Femara 2.5mg and Kisqali My health skyrocketed soon after starting this treatment. It seems the ulternative and conventional meds are working like a dream together. I look forward to reading your stories. If it might be useful I will write a summary of our experiences1.1KViews2likes43CommentsMedical Cannabis
I’ve recently met someone who had stage 4 metastisised breast cancer and given only a few months to live. She managed to use cannabis oil and the tumours have reduced and 18 months later she is alive and able to work again. I undetstand although medical cannabis is now legal there hasn’t been one prescription processed yet in Australia. Does anyone have any further information on this or know of anyone who has been successful in obtaining it please. Or any trials using cannabis. Apparently there is a huge crop growing in Lismore which is ironic being so close to Nimbin. I feel so frustrated Cannabis is illegal and it’s helped so many people, especially children having seizures. Yet the government will take children from the parents and treat them with pharmacy drugs whilst the cannabis has been stopping the seizures. I would be very willing to try cannabis in an effort to stop my breast cancer metastasising in lieu of waiting to see if it will. I know this is a “hot” topic but as a cancer patient feel we should have the right to talk openly about anything & everything we have heard/seen/tried. Looking forward to your comments. ❤️163Views2likes11Comments
